I want to learn German.....

I have been trying to learne German for many years...but been unsuccesful! 
I lived in Dortmund Germany when i was a very young woman but only picked up a little. Now my son has married a lovely German lady and they live in Bonn. My daughter in laws parents speak very little English and my Germany is terrible! But at least they are trying and the mother in law has been going to classes to improve her English! So it would be fab if i could communicate with them in their language......well better than i do at present lol! my daughter in law is an English and German teacher and has promised that when i next visit she will speak mostly German to me to MAKE me speak ha ha!
