vielleicht du kann(st) hilfe mier? ich weis nicht was ist the sense of the following in Englisch. (don't know if the question is appropriate to this forum?) irgenwo -- Song title ist - Lieber Gott, lass die Sonne wieder scheinen - the following words appear in the song - wenn die Wolken die Grauen? weis? er weinen - as near as I can make out the clouds are fearful and crying (raining)?

The lyrics are:

"grauen" by itself means "to be fearful", but "grau" also means grey. "Die grauen" means "the grey ones". Crying clouds is a metaphor for rain.

It's a lovely song, isn't it.

Don't quite know what happened to my earlier attempt to post a response to you.
This is truly a very beautiful song; I can't fully express my gratitude to you for giving me the full lyrics in German, and the English translation as well. This was more that I could ever have hoped for. I prevously would sing the German lyrics, pretending that I understood them, now I do. I sensed a depth and beauty in the song that I could not previously fully appreciate.
